A bit about me.

Simon Brown

With an extensive 20-year leadership career in the financial services, transportation and technology sectors, I bring a wealth of experience to clients. During this time, I have worked on all sides of the boardroom table as a banker, strategy consultant, corporate finance advisor, investor and client.

My diverse background in these industries, combined with professional certification in psychometrics and coaching, allows me to leverage insightful, real-world examples and provide high-quality services to board-level executives. Quite simply, there are very few challenges in business that I haven’t either experienced first-hand, or helped other leaders to overcome.

I am also a seasoned Board Member and a Fellow of The Institute of Leadership. I currently serve as Member of the Board of Trustees and Chair of the Strategy & Finance Committee at the regional mental health charity Thurrock & Brentwood Mind.

As a professionally qualified ILM 7 executive coach, I am passionate about partnering with leaders to unleash the potential within themselves and their organisations.  I work with CEOs, senior executives and founders to help them conquer their toughest challenges and pull out their innate capacity for peak performance.

Operating Style.

My approach is to create a safe, secure and confidential environment where clients can address complex issues, identify goals and emerge with a clear direction and plan of action to deliver on their objectives.

Through powerful and challenging conversation, I encourage leaders to consider issues through multiple lenses - and once there is clarity of direction - to commit to execution whilst eliminating barriers that stand in the way of success.

Previous clients have commented that I show a genuine interest in understanding the deep-rooted desires and emotional drivers that underpin their motivation for change. Results usually show in both self-development and organisational transformation.

My unique value is that I have experienced first-hand the power of great coaching and overcome many setbacks during a 20-year career in leadership.  This often means I can truly empathise with client challenges and quickly help leverage a desire for change that will have maximum impact.

My operating style is fairly relaxed but can also be intense. I value long-term one-to-one relationships and see myself as an enabler for the facilitation of long-term change.  I typically engage with clients for a minimum of 3-months and use a variety of diagnostics, frameworks and tools to support their transformation journey.
